Do you feel under increasing pressure to produce high quality publications, or struggle to translate your great ideas into inspirational – and engaging – writing? Gillie Bolton introduces her three ‘key phases’ method (Write for Myself, Redraft for my Reader, Edit for Posterity) to make the writing process less daunting, and offers support and advice on how to develop your own writing voice to use this to engage readers in your research. ‘Characters’ at different career stages help you to identify your own writing level, and before and after examples of work from a range of disciplines clearly illustrate the key writing techniques. Drawing on case studies, as well as their own extensive writing experience, the authors suggest strategies for dealing with common difficulties such as: Time and energy management Restoring flagging enthusiasm Maintaining inspiration Dealing with potential burnout and writer’s block. Each chapter concludes with a set of constructive exercises which develop these critical skills and inspire you to improve and enjoy your own academic writing. Ideal for upper level students and early career researchers. Dr Gillie Bolton is an international authority on writing and author of a long publication list including nine books, academic papers, as well as professional articles, poetry, and for a lay readership. VALUING HEALTH SYSTEMS: A FRAMEWORK FOR LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES
Valuing Health Systems: A Framework for Low and Middle Income Countries
Название: VALUING HEALTH SYSTEMS: A FRAMEWORK FOR LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES
Издательство: Sage Publications
Страниц:  352
Формат: DOC
Размер: 8.80 mb
Жанр: Sage Publications
The underlying themes of this book are twofold: it emphasises the importance of understanding and strengthening health systems to improve a population’s health in low and middle income countries; it promotes the values of equity and the right to health, efficiency, participative and accountable decision-making, and the need for a long-term perspective. These values are examined in relation to governance, policy making and planning, financing, managing, and intersectoral action for health and health service delivery, with a chapter devoted to each. By permeating the health system with these values, the authors seek to develop a good health system. This would have access to a level of resources commensurate with the national level of income, and use of these resources in the most efficient way to ensure an equitable and maximized level of health, sustainable over the long term. Moreover, it would empower the health system members in areas concerning their health and contributes towards wider social cohesion and mores.

Gvosdev and Christopher Marsh's Russian Foreign Policy: Interests, Vectors, and Sectors covers not only contemporary Russian policies towards the various regions of the world, but also looks at the interactions between the various constituencies that shape and influence Russian foreign policy. This framework of looking at the sectors within each vector is an effective and comprehensive way for students to learn Russian foreign policy. While providing important historical context and exposure to the scholarly literature, the authors cover each vector, from the United States, to Eastern and Western Europe, to East Asia, China, and South Asia, to the BRICS. Within each vector chapter, major topical issues such as oil and energy, defense policy, economic policy, the role of international institutions, and the impact of major interest groups or influencers will be highlighted.
